"Penny" was my first champion at just 12 1/2 months. She finished in strong competition with me - a novice handler - showing her to her middle points. It is a tribute to her quality that she won so easily because I had no idea what I was doing! Showing her to a Best Puppy in Group under Maxwell Riddle - the author of The Complete Shetland Sheepdog - was truly the highpoint of her puppy career. As an adult, Penny won a 4 point American major under Dr. LaHam with me handling. I consider both judges my teachers as both Mr. Riddle's book and Dr. LaHam's seminars provided me with a most valuable education.
