"Checkers" stands out among all our dogs as the one who possessed a perfect temperament. "Checkers" was basically hand-raised as a singleton puppy as his dam never really understood her role as mother. Interesting that for her second litter, "Tiffany" was a fine mother. Nonetheless, her first singleton baby was raised by his human family - us - and maybe that had something to do with the fact that "Checkers" was the easiest dog to house train, obedience train and prepare for the conformation ring. Nothing fazed him and he was a lovingly responsive dog with the gentlest nature. He lived to please his family and please us he did - we adored him.

 

 

"Checkers" produced two champions for us:

Ch. Kincardine Crescent Moon "Llewie"

Ch. Kincardine Keep Your Eye On Me "Zachary"

 

 

After we finished "Checkers" we had the opportunity to place him in a new home with an elderly gentleman who had just suffered a stroke that limited his mobility. The gentleman was looking for a companion to love and keep him company. "Checkers" found the person who needed him most - a perfect and most fulfilling match. Sometimes the right thing just comes together.
